Geocaching in Tucson : parked bird

Written by:

Tucson geocaching. Bird nesting in parking overhand, photo by M. LaFreniere, all rights reserved, originally published by myself on InstagramThing about geocaching is you find nature in unexpected places like semi-forested washes and birds nesting under parking covers.

When I Iooked up, she was staring at me like she was wondering what I was Iooking for. She wasn’t scared so I guess she’d seen a geocacher or two already. I am not giving the GC this time because this pic is too much of a giveaway although from the log, it looks like they might have moved the cache further away from her. Funny thing is that a previous cacher logged “some baby’s hatching soon…” so I spent time searching in the nearby trees for a cache close first. It didn’t occur to me to look for a nest in the parking structure. You just never know.

Also appeared on instagram @cactus_catz .  Note:  I have backdated this entry as I am putting all my geocaching instagram posts on Cactus Dreams so am catching up to where I am today.
