Geocaching in Tucson : family of ants

Written by:

The other day I showed the three trackables I picked up at the GC7ZHP0 event. It’s hard to drop off trackables and swag inside of Tucson because as in most urban cities, the caches have to be small or even nano to avoid discovery by nongeocachers (muggles). I’m happy because the mom in this family of ants proved big enough to hold a bag of swag and trackables. Opening the bag, I dropped the Raven Geocoin trackable here.  I think I might have picked up a toy dinosaur here too.

The Geocoin hasn’t been picked up yet though. When a person picks up a trackable, they are supposed to input the code to show they picked it up.  Not everyone does so sometimes a trackable goes missing for a time.  One guy said his trackable went missing because a young couple picked it up, forgot to log it, then had a baby so didn’t geocache for about a year and then dropped it off with an apology in the log explaining everything.  The trackable logs can be fun to read sometimes but most times it just says, picked up and dropped off or discovered.

Also appeared on instagram @cactus_catz although I’ve added a little more here. Note: I’ll be backdating this entry as I am putting all my geocaching instagram posts on Cactus Dreams so am catching up to where I am today. Affiliate disclosures on the bottom.
